Black History Month Dress Up Day In celebration of Black History Month, the Holy Cross Diversity Board will host a “Dress-Up” day on Monday, March 3rd, coinciding with our schoolwide Town Hall. The Diversity Board’s Dress-Up theme combines the recognition of the nations of origin for Black Americans and acknowledgement of the flavor of modern cultural fashion for Black Americans. This theme allows students to honor Black history through a symbolic coupling of cultural roots and modern interpretation and expression. Specifically, students will be invited to wear an outfit with a color scheme derived from the colors of the flag of any nation of origin for Black Americans. For example, if a student chose to wear an outfit representing the Bahamas, he or she would be dressed in black, gold, and aquamarine. In addition to wearing an outfit representing a flag of each student’s selection, students will be allowed to accessorize with hats, jewelry, and sneakers. No do-rags, paint, or bandanas are allowed at all. The donation of $5.00 to participate will be donated to our local chapter of the NAACP. Here is a list of possible nations from which students can choose. Each student should research that nation’s flag and assemble an outfit accordingly. Let’s make this a special day for Holy Cross to conclude Black History Month! Voter Registration The Registrar of Voters will be coming to Holy Cross on Friday March 7th for voter registration. They will arrive at 9:45am. Any student who is a citizen and will be 18 years old by Election Day, November 4, 2025 is eligible to register.
