Special guest Meg Dwyer ’05 returned to Holy Cross to lead a Student Leadership Conference with our student leaders. Students explored what it takes to be an effective leader, discovered different leadership styles, and learned how they can use their strengths to make a difference in our school community. We’re proud to invest in the next generation of Crusader leaders!
To the Holy Cross High School family: Our community remembers and honors those lost in the terrorist attacks of September 11, those left behind to mourn them, and the many, many women and men who came to their aid that day and continue to do so to this day.
In a special way, though, we also take a moment today to offer a prayer for Fr. Frank Grogan, C.S.C. Our first Chaplain, a teacher, mentor and friend, Fr. Grogan was lost to us on September 11. Yet Fr. Frank's legacy is hardly one of loss or sorrow. His wisdom, his compassion, his daily gift of radical kindness moved countless Holy Cross graduates to live lives of service and joy. That same kindness pervades our halls today. When we talk about a Holy Cross education being one of excellence anchored in kindness, we are speaking of Fr. Frank Grogan. He will always be with us.

The Saint André Bessette Award honors an alumnus or alumna who has distinguished himself or herself in life after high school. We are proud to celebrate his accomplishments and his lasting connection to the Holy Cross community.

Our current student leaders traveled to the University of Notre Dame for the annual Holy Cross Student Leadership Conference! Throughout the conference, they explored what it means to lead in the Holy Cross tradition; grounded in faith, guided by our shared values, and committed to serving others.

Another successful summer volleyball camp in the books!
Congratulations to Braydon Hutwagner '28 on an outstanding season of achievement! Braydon was named CHSCA All-State, earned NVL Individual Champion honors, and was selected to the First Team All-NVL. His success continued beyond the high school season as he qualified for and competed in the CSGA Connecticut Amateur and the CSGA Palmer Cup.
Braydon also represented Holy Cross on a national stage, competing in the Future Masters Invitational in Dothan, Alabama, against many of the top 15–18-year-old golfers in the country. Congratulations, Braydon!
We welcomed our incoming freshmen and their families to campus for a special walk-through experience, giving them the opportunity to get familiar with the halls, meet members of our community, and get a head start on the beginning of their high school journey.
We enjoyed inviting students from the local area for Coach Mike Wilson’s basketball summer camps. It’s always inspiring to see the next generation of student-athletes learn from one of the best coaches in the area.

Giving back is part of being a Crusader. Today, our Football team partnered with United Way to assemble 200 snack bags for local food pantries and shelters. Their hard work will help provide a little extra comfort and nourishment to members of our community in need. Thank you to our student-athletes for living out the values of service, compassion, and teamwork, both on and off the field.
