Welcome Future Crusader

Thank you for choosing to learn more about Holy Cross High School!

For over fifty years, Holy Cross High School has provided an outstanding education for talented young men and women in the Greater Waterbury area. As part of a larger network of Holy Cross high schools around the world, we believe in an education built on educating the minds and hearts of students. While challenging our students in the classroom, we also take seriously the engagement of our students outside of class. Whether you are a scientist, artist, or athlete (or all three) you will find a home here at Holy Cross.

The strength of the Holy Cross community is as important as the academic, extracurricular, and spiritual activities we offer our students. When you enroll at Holy Cross, it is not just a four year commitment. You will make lifelong friends and connections, and be part of a network of over 12,000 alumni worldwide.

We invite you to connect with us to discover all that it means to be a Crusader. Come for an open house, attend an admission and financial aid information session, and spend a day with a student. When you are ready to apply, we will be here to answer all of your questions.

We can’t wait to meet you!

Why Holy Cross?

The Science Academy is a distinguished signature program designed to give students the opportunity to explore and excel in the fields of science while fostering critical thinking and intellectual growth. This innovative program will offer a well-rounded, comprehensive educational experience rooted in the finest traditions of the liberal arts tradition while preparing students for success in the rapidly evolving world of science and technology.
Welcome to the daily laboratory for exploration. Holy Cross High School carves time out in our daily schedule for you to become fully formed, life-long learners. What happens during the community period? It's your choice. Hone your skills in the Math Lab, play a few rounds of tennis or join our poetry sessions. You can discover new passions, practice time management and receive more face time with your teachers.
At the heart of the Holy Cross High School experience lies the importance of empathy and giving back. Students come to recognize how fortunate they are to attend this school and develop a strong desire to contribute to their community. Whether through participating in the Annual Service Trip, raising funds for local organizations, or donating clothing and other essential items to those in need, they find numerous ways to support others. The act of giving back is woven into the very fabric of the Crusader DNA, shaping the values and character of every student who walks through the doors.
Our Founder, Blessed Father Basil Moreau, was a true pioneer when he shifted the focus of education from being solely subject-centered to being student-centered. He understood that education goes beyond academics, and as such, at Holy Cross High School, we emphasize the holistic development of each student. Just as much importance is placed on the physical, emotional, spiritual, and mental well-being as it is on academic achievement. Our Catholic faith also allows us to examine and develop a student's character and values. At Holy Cross, we are committed to educating the whole student, nurturing their growth in every aspect of life. With our smaller class sizes, students receive personalized attention and support from teachers, ensuring they have the guidance they need to thrive. Additionally, students are supported through one-on-one time with counselors and group feedback during Advisory Period. Every step we take is designed to equip students with the skills and confidence to succeed as their true selves.
