Holy Cross High School has appointed Karen Pellegrino as its new Director of Enrollment Management. With an extensive background in enrollment management and college admissions, Ms. Pellegrino brings a wealth of experience. She will focus on several key initiatives that will shape the school's future. She is already hard at work developing a variety of recruitment and financial aid strategies and materials to meet the needs of future Holy Cross students and their families.

“Holy Cross High School is excited to welcome Karen Pellegrino to its leadership team, and her work will undoubtedly play a crucial role in the school’s ongoing growth and success,” said Principal, Tommy Pompei.

Before joining Holy Cross, Ms. Pellegrino, a graduate of Boston College (M.A.,Higher Education Administration & B.A. English & Psychology) was the Director of Communication & Enrollment Strategies at Notre Dame West Haven (2023-2025), Vice President for Enrollment Management at Saint Joseph’s University in Philadelphia (2018-2023) and at Fairfield University in Connecticut (2012-2018). She also worked in Admissions and Enrollment Management at Fordham University and Boston College.

“Initially I chose a career in admissions because my own college experience was transformational, and I wanted the opportunity to work with students during this pivotal time in their lives. Transitioning to a high school community has allowed me to once again connect with students on a personal level.”

In her previous roles, Ms. Pellegrino has been a key player in strategic planning and has collaborated closely with marketing teams to develop recruitment materials and strategies. Ms. Pellegrino has been innovative in her approaches to admissions and financial aid, and has already implemented several changes to Holy Cross's admission process. Perhaps more importantly, she has always worked at mission-driven institutions, and has a deep respect for the Holy Cross charism.

Her work also includes advising students on the college admission process, offering expert guidance on college choices, application strategies, and even essay editing. This hands-on approach with students and families underscores her commitment to providing meaningful support throughout the entire admissions journey.

“I am thrilled to have Karen join us at Holy Cross,” said Dr. Thomas C. Pellegrino, President. “Our school is truly fortunate to have someone with her skills, experience, and passion for our mission guiding the all-critical admissions process. On a personal note, I am so looking forward to the chance to work with my cousin again.  Karen and I worked together for many years at Fairfield University.  I have told everyone here that her knowledge of the admissions area, and her ability to support families while navigating the challenging dynamics of today’s enrollment marketplace are unparalleled.”.
